Hello,
My fiance just informed me that my panther chameleon has started napping during the day... he is showing no signs of being sick. He doesnt tilt his head up and gape, his colors look great his eyes look great as well and he has great energy during the day. I've attached the latest pic i have of my chameleon mr. Slow-a-saurus Rex and the husbandry... i did make a few changes to the husbandry. I added large rocks to the plants so the soil is not exposed. Is this normal? Im getting conflicting information when i look it up.

Im not by any means expert, but as i can see the enclosure is not quite suited for your gorgeous boy. Definitely consider adding more branches and real plants. And could you tell us what lights are you using

Those are all real plants
I meant more of real plants.. your cham needs places to hide and feel safe, these are good plants but definitely needs more coverage. You have a lot of unused space, where you can put more branches and plants. Consider putting vertical and horizontal branches and plants attached to the sides of the enclosure so you can make that “hides” he needs.

And something to keep in mind. Chameleons don’t take naps. The should be fully awake during the day. If not so maybe he is going through some kind of a health issue and he needs a specialist in exotic pets. Here we can make conclusions but a real vet needs to take care of him

So just got off the phone with an exotic vet, with all the information I have given them they said he is fine. I do plan on adding more plants. We didn't have many plant options in winter. As for the UV light we just got a new bulb since we just hit the 6 month of having him and it is arcadia pro t5 6%

And it's in a linear thing

Will be adding a lot more branches too... is his basking too close do you thibk? We did measure but he's growing fast so I thibk we have to lower it. Or maybe raise the light fixture?

I hope that helps :) keep in mind to measure the temps not on the branch where he basks but couple of inches higher as your chameleon has his hight too :)
