Chameleon Tongue

Took the little fellow to the vet. It was advised by the University of Florida that we suture the tongue in place to give it a rest and keep him from injuring it further. If this doesn't work we will amputate, trying to be less evasive at first. I will begin to feed critical care this after noon and have set him up with a feeding bowl. I will let everyone know how it goes. Thank you everyone for your help and support.

Shame man, pity it has happened to your son. I hope your cham is ok and please let us know how he does.

Well today was a sad day, the sutures placed yesterday pulled through and Bill swallowed his tongue so today we had it amputated. He had a tougher time with anesthesia but seems to be holding. His eyes are sunk in a hydration is going to be an issue, he has a misting system that sprays him hourly and I force feed him a cricket today. I will continue to work with him.:(

Even though you had to have it amputated, it is still a good thing. You can teach him to eat! Hand feed him-- give him special special care and he will survive just fine :)

I just hope he pulls through.

Update: He seems to be in great spirits and we started antibiotics yesterday. Hand feeding is def and issue, he will not eat from tongs or a cup, however, I did see him drinking from a cup. Can anyone give me some pointer to get him to start hand feeding or cup feeding, I would really appreciate the input. Thank you everyone for your continued support through this difficult time.
