They certainly look at our eyes (they are not constantly looking at any other part). The next problem is what do they think we are. Cats think of us as "big dumb cats", but chams dont think of us as big dumb chams. On the other hand they dont think of us as "trees" either. We are some type of animal/thing to them.
But chams generally are not afraid of large "things", they are afraid of things a few times their size that could eat them, or at least kick them out of the territory.
