Chameleon weights

I've had my first ever panther chameleon, Parker, for a few days now (locale;nosy faly) and I'm wondering the average weight of a 7 month old? I was told he was approximately 6-8 months old (I think he might be younger than that) and I'd like to know if he's underweight so I can make a suitable feeding routine.
I've not weighed him yet because I don't want to stress him out. He's been eating and drinking a lot.

And just a quick one, sperm plug? what are their purpose?

It is really tough to say what an average weight would be as they mature at very different rates. I would keep track of his weight and look at him. If his weight slowly climbs and he looks healthy, then you are feeding him enough. Chances are that you will over feed him, so just make sure he doesn't look too fat. :)

There is not a "purpose" for a sperm plug. It is just old sperm that will never fulfill its purpose.

7 months panther

My panther Ambilobe/nosy be Diesel is 'about' 7 months and at last weighing he was 70g he puts on about 2g a week 1cm in lenth (nose to tip of tail) though its alternate weeks so this week he looks a little skinny he'll probably be the same weight but longer and next week he'll look chubby and be no longer but weigh more... my guys not a very big eater 'i don't think' (my first cham had him 4 months) he eats every day but often refuses food he dose not just eat everything I offer him. Yesterday he had two silkmoths and I put 3 large locusts in his tank and I can till see one there this morning. Enjoy your new friends best thing thats happened to me in a looooong time ♡

they grow so fast!

16 days ago he was 64g today he was 81g so even with a few weks differences between them there could be a big size difference so as long as he looks healthy and is eating, pooing and growing you shouldn't need to worry x

That seems a good weight. I have an almost 8 month Ambilobe male that is ~85g. He's been a bit cranky lately and their are whispers of a food strike, so I shall see tomorrow at the vet if he means business. I assume his demands will be for a new Arcadia light, pink wings, moths, and mantis. He drives a hard bargain

please about the weight

Hmmm my guy tryed superworms for the first time this week and hardly eaten anything other since... but he'll shedd tomorrow so im hoping its just that putting him off his food?? after putting on 11g in 11 days im not too worried hes not eaten much this week lol ;)

Your cham looks great! I would say he is the right size for his age. Like it was mentioned I keep track of the weights and as long as he is growing steadily I wouldn't worry too much.

On another note. A lot of people have mentioned their chameleons going on "hunger strikes" when given super worms so I would limit how many you give him since they are a harder bodied feeder. Crickets, Dubia, and silk worms all make great staple feeder insects.

Hopefully once he sheds he will be back to his old self :D

Enjoy they grow up quickly :D :D

Lol, my guy "strikes" against crickets, dubai and even horns! He's such a brat face :p

Btw Op, your cham is gorgeous!! Falys are my fave, even though we don't talk about that around here (wink, wink). As others have said and I agree he looks great and IMO there is no need to worry :)
