Hi! This is emmet is about a year and a half old.. he’s been this weird light yellow color recently, it’s not his normal color, but he’s eating normal, poops look normal, drinking, and active, basically everything’s normal except his color. I’ll post 2 pics, one of his usual color and one I took today of his weird color. He’s been this pale yellow for about a week now. Is this something to worry about? I know their colors getting brighter and more vibrant in mating season etc.

Your male Furcifer pardalis looks great. You may want to add some quality UVA and UVB lighting and check UV levels with a UV meter. That plus some high quality supplements with his normal feeding/watering regime. That should pick up his colors some.

Best Regards

Hi! Thank you! I already have a high quality uvb light and he gets high quality supplements. I’ll look in to uva. Thanks!

He burnt his back about 6 months ago… it’s healing now. It doesn’t affect him at all
Ah ok, good to hear. Sometimes they go thru a faze and their colors get muted for a while, it’s normal and since you said everything else is good with him I wouldn’t be concerned. I currently have an ambanja doing the same thing in a winter funk

My panther's colors go a little muted during the colder months of the year. I suspect its 'winter blues'. Keep an eye on him, if your temps are in the right range and he is getting proper UVB I bet they will brighten up in a bit. I did notice his casque is a little puffy, which is often a sign of being overweight. May I ask how much and how often you are feeding your beautiful boy?

He eats a mix of Dubias, crickets, and super worms, all with the right vitamins and everything. He eats maybe a total of 5 bugs a day, he went through a phase where he didn’t want to eat anything after we went on vacation and he was being housesat, and he lost a ton of weight, so yk we panicked trying to fix that, so yeah he’s probably overweight 😂 but I’ll work on that

hahaha I feel that! Since he is eating now I would scale back a bit. Great job, he is beautiful!
