Chameleon with mouth open

Hello. Today my 5 month old female panther chameleon has been hanging out with her mom open. She doesn't seem to have an mucus or anything like that and she only opens her mouth when she's not moving and her appetite has been great. The ambient temp in my house today is 85... could it be that she's just hot

She was a dark color but as soon as I opened the cage she closed her mouth... This is what I got... I'll see if I can sneak up on her

This is her cage... I at least mist 3 times a day... I also fed her a few horn worms this morning which I thought was good for hydration

turned the AC on and closed it. Sorry i guess I was just being paranoid... she was probably just to hot. Is 85 as an ambient temp little to hot for young panthers?

85 ambient would be too hot, here is what the care sheets on this site says for panthers. My panther is 10 months old and I have had him since he was 4 months old, I would keep it on the lower side of basking, but he likes it a little warmer. Now at this age, I have different areas (same general location) that range from 80-88 for basking. All kinds of gradients he can maneuver to if he gets too hot or cold

Baby/juvenile (<9 months): ambient 72-80F (22-26C), basking 82F (28C)
Adult males: ambient 75-80F (23-26C), basking 85-90F (29-32C)
Adult females: ambient 75-80F (23-26C), basking 80-85F (26-29C)

It is possible that it is to hot for the little lady, They will open their mouth when they are to hot, this allows the saliva to evaporate cooling the incoming air and thus cooling off their mid section.

It could possible me a URI (upperrespitory infection). Never actually had to deal with this but from what I have heard you can sometimes hearwheezing/popping when they breathe.

Is she opening his mouth in the basking area?
What are your temperatures?

My veiled cham was doing this to the other day . She's 6 month . The temps at basking was hi 80s . I put her basking light up higher and she stopped . Her temps dropped I thought to low so I lowered it and she started doing it agin . She had as well had a recent shed . I keep her light up a bit higher now ,she no longer is doing it .
