Chameleons and mirrors

Hey guys so I have a male Ambilobe hes around 7 months old :). I cant remember where I read it and i know this is going to sound silly but I read that sometimes males like to see their reflection in mirrors. I know chameleons in general are pretty territorial but I figured I would go ahead and just try it for a day or two and if he had a bad reaction to it I would just remove it. Surprisingly enough i'm on the first week of having a little bird cage mirror in the corner of his enclosure with a vine in front of it and he seems to like going over to it every once in a while and just staring into it at him self. He doesn't get fired up and doesn't seem to get defensive towards his reflection at all, just curious. He will occasionally try to grab at the mirror to crawl up it but that's about it. I think as of right now he is good with it being in there I just thought I would see what peoples opinions are on the matter!

No they dont like mirrors! Just because hes not flaring up doesn't mean he's not stressed from it. I have no idea where you heard that. People will put them in front of mirrors to try and fire them up sometimes for a picture or whatever, but not in there cage. For what reason would they like mirrors? To make sure they have no cricket legs stuck in their teeth before going out on a hot date?

Lol OP sorry I'm not attacking you, just whatever you read that says that. There is so much BS out there.

Shoot ok its all good, I guess Ill take it out immediately.

By territorial, if 2 chams are in cages beside each other separated by a sheet, one will try to find a slit, just to puff at the other one.

Yeah not a good idea, get rid of it. As someone already said, some put them in front of mirrors for them to fire up for a pretty picture. But it would constantly stress them (even if its' not obvious) to have one sitting in their enclosure.

Agree with above statements, he could not be flaring up because he doesn't feel like the space is completely his. Like when my cham was a couple of months he would walk past mirrors and reflections no problem. But once he got a certain age he would flare up and even try to attack that rude intruder chameleon where ever he saw him whether it be his reflection in the dvd/tv/radio speakers, floor mirror etc. If it reflects he'll challenge it. Also, sometimes by not flaring it could me that the cham thinks he's the less dominant and would be stressed but maybe not necessarily aggressive.
