Chameleons are extremely restless and eating less, could this be puberty? help!

Hello!

I've been having great success with my two male chameleons, one is almost 8 months old and one is almost 6 months old. I've had the older one since 3 months old and the other one since a tiny 6 weeks old!

Recently, the older male has been bobbing his head at my younger male, which I can assume means he's hit puberty? (I see this when I take the younger one out). I read it could be territorial but he doesn't seem aggressive in that way.. The younger one isn't bobbing but they're both so active during the day I feel like something is wrong.

Both of them run all over their cages, obviously trying to find a way out, climbing up and down the screen even down to the floor. Im worried about their nails, and why they seem to be so set on escaping. They're both in Large Repti-breeze cages until I move to my new place in June then they will be upgraded to the x-large. The older one has also been eating less and less... he drinks well, poops are normal, but he doesn't seem to have that crazy cham hunger he's had since he was a baby.

If anyone has any advice/comments I would really appreciate it. Thank you for reading.

Sounds like they just need their big boy cages.

Apetite slows down as they age, and most begin to feed every other day starting around the 8 month mark.

I didn't know it was 8 months, I thought I had a couple more months before beginning every other day feeding, thank you for letting me know.

I really really wish I could get those for them now theres just no space :(
