Carol is talking about this or something like it. http://www.twpinc.com/wire-mesh/TWPCAT_BLK it's expensive and you generally have to buy a whole roll but it's very much worth the cost. My panthers have been living outside year round for several years now. Their enclosure gets tented and heated when it gets too cold out. When the heat of summer hits I just run the misters longer. Plant respiration is a wonderful thing and the cages are packed with plants. Keeping chams outside year round is possible but you have to approach it differently than keeping them inside. As for bugs, I have yet to have an issue, you will need to watch out for red ants, they will kill your chams quickly if they can find them. As for other insects I keep some carnivorous plants outside of the cages to keep the smaller stuff down. Otherwise they are just bonus feeders so long as you don't live in an area that sprays a ton of insecticide. I haven't had any issues with wild animals trying to get in other than a snake that got in through some torn patio screen. The screening that is on the cages is not going to be torn by anything short of a bobcat or panther. Where I live we do have bobcats but they show no interest in being near the house, they just walk along the river edge.
