Chameleons Glow In The Dark?

HE GLOWS so I was turning his big plant light on and I hit the RGB button instead of the white light button and the UV blue magenta color came on. All of his colors started glowing :0

I’ll see if I can’t get a picture this afternoon. Sometimes fluorescence shows up on camera and sometimes it doesn’t, in reef keeping it’s always a 50/50.

That is interesting! (y) I tried with a glow light for fish when the thread opened (the black light might be different). I noticed only whitish scales where different. But the only colors of him sleeping were, green, brown, and a few whitish around the head. Maybe awake their skin is doing something different.
Good Job!

Yeah I didn’t see his skeleton, but all of his colors just popped. There was orange, green, yellow, blue, et cetera. He’s a veiled chameleon too. I haven’t seen any of them glowing in photographs online.

That is cool-- Can you share a picture of your light bulb? Mine might be designed for the glow fish and or very weak lighting. Just remembered- I purchased light for when I had axolotl's not the fish. They had a different black light. Sorry

Plus, I will have to try when they are awake. I just snuck it over him when he was sleeping. (y)

I don't totally understand the bioluminescence caused by some stuff. I do go to the beach when CA is experiencing the algae bloom when the Bio is glowing. On the pier you can watch fish swim shooting through it or enjoy the waves from a distance.. (y)

I have read about it just don't understand it all..

Klyde O'Scope--- So glad you chimed in since Veileds don't share all the same colors which can be a factor too

I use an Aqueon Optibright it’s a smaller one but it’s all LEDs. I’ll take a picture when I get home. It puts out some light for sure.
