Chameleons stolen

I am beyond angry as I post this. I had a couple of my fairly new guys out sunning today. An Ambilobe I picked up from Cain and a beautiful Ankaramy.
I own a gym and 90% of my reptiles are there. I rotate them out back, weather permitting. Obviously it is my fault and I take full responsibility for it,but it doesn't make it any less painful. My concern is for the chameleons and not my financial loss. Some ahole has something he has no idea how to take care of and the chameleon won't make it. Let my stupidity be a warning, don't leave your animals unattended.

God I can't stand people like that. I mean WTF! Chuck keep a eye out on craigslist in your area might be a ad very soon on there. People always steal stuff and sell it on craigslist. My aunts dog was stolen and guess where we found it for $1000

Chuck, that sucks big time, why can't people leave stuff that isn't theirs alone ? Sancho is right, put out advertisements and flyers and make it very uncomfortable for whoever took them if their intention is to make a few bucks.

Agreed Sancho.

You need to check craigslist and call the police, post up signs warning people that your pet is stolen and if they see it that you may offer a reward.

So sorry.

This is a felony in total value lost. Definitely worth calling the cops over. I hope you catch the SOBs!

Same thing happen to me today with Mr ester. My little brother who is staying with me for the weekend put him on the back patio and someone took him off my porch.......I have been looking on craigslist all day. Im stuck at work till 7:30 tonight, My brother has been looking for him all day and hung signs up EVERYWHERE with a $100 reward for anyone who brings him home......

Puh ! Too bad to hear ! I hope your parsoniis were better saved, here in Germany there were also some bad things the last years.
Lots of turtles were stolen and also some Naultinus and Hoplodactylus from New Zealand

Sorry to hear about Mr. Ester. =( people need to learn to stay off other people's porches.

So, if I read your signature right, if my chameleon is broken, and I look on Chameleon Forums for the answer, would that mean I had E-Reptile dysfunction?

Mee too........I sent my bro the sign to put out stressing that he will die if he doesnt have correct temps ect. I even offered to trade him for one of my babies(which I would never do!)

yes indeed:p

I'm sorry to hear that Chuck. I also agree with checking craigslist. There's so many stolen animals on Craigslist it's not funny. I'll keep an eye out on Craigslist in the Maryland/Delaware/NJ area.

Not that I am doubting anyone's loss today, but are you sure they didn't escape?

Had one of mine stolen out of my yard now I only let special people come over no uninvited visitors. I know how you feel it has to be a gym rat keep your eyes and ears open someone will open their mouth they always do.

I did file a police report, not that I think it will do much good. I will hit the streets like Huggy Bear and ask around. People like to talk and brag so we will see. I won't make this mistake again.

Chuck- I am very sad to hear this :( Are there any neighboring businesses with cameras outside? If so, maybe you can ask them to look through their footage to see if anyone holding a cage is visible.

This is why I am saving up for security cameras if I ever to decide to take my chameleons outside with the others.

Chuck, people really do like to brag, your best bet is checking out the newspaper, local pet stores, etc.

HOw awful. Perhaps post signs indicating the animals stolen are ill, require daily medication and no questions will be asked if they are found and returned. Perhaps the person who stole them will think twice about keeping an unwell animal?
