tounge

Its a vailed chameleon she is female i have had her for 7 months now i have her in a wooden viv with glass at the front i feed her locasts crickets and marlio worms and wasp grubs i use the callcium powder three times per week i mist her cage two to three times per day i have her in my room were it is fairley quite i put her lights on at nine in the morning and off at eleven at night i live in scotland thats as much out the questions as i can remember lol and excuse my spelling

My chams do this if they don't drink enough water, I know there are other things that can cause it, but they need good hydration for their tongues to work properly.
What do his urates look like? Are they white?

As Dgood says, best to fill out the care form and post it (pics help too).

Chams tongues can get injured too, esp if it sticks to something and they have a difficult time 'reeling' it back in.
And the little bone the mussel is attached to is very fragile.

A 7 month old should be able to zap a fly from several inches away.

Is this something new, or has he always been that way?

The nutrobal is the calcium powder with added vitimins i used this with my bearded dragon and had no problems do u think to much calcium could be the problem she is fine and healthy just this problem using her full tounge

No. Too much d3. Your chameleons needs are not the same as your bearded dragon. Chams are very sensitive to d3. I use Nutrabol three times a week for my Leos and cresties. I used to use Nutrabol for two previous chams as that is what I was told to do. There has been lots of research done on the subject and giving too much d3 is just as bad for your Cham as not enough. I now feel much more comfortable using three different powders. Plain calcium daily. Calcium with d3 every two weeks and a multivitamin every two weeks.

Do u think this is why she cant shoot her tounge right out ? What powders would u recomend and can u tell me what ones u use and how often plz and thanks for the replys btw

I'm not a vet but in my opinion it could very well be. The more you learn about these wonderful creatures the more you understand their needs. I use Komodo cricket dust for plain calcium which I lightly dust daily. Reptivite without d3 for multivitamin used twice a month and repti calcium with d3 twice a month. I also try to offer lots of different prey items well gut loaded. It's been a good summer this year and mine has been outside quite a lot which helps with d3. There are lots of good blogs on here. You might want to check out some relating to the care of female chams so you are ready for the egg laying:D
Welcome to the forum.:)
