It's been a while since I was active on Chameleon Forums because a lot has been happening over the past few months.

We received a grant from Petco Foundation and since then have been really busy getting a lab put together and preparing for the next steps in the program.

Anyone in the Los Angeles area who is interested in attending workshops should send me an email at [email protected]. I will notify you once I have a set schedule. Space is limited but we will do our best to accommodate as many attendees as possible.

Anyone who would like to be a guest speaker and who will be in the area is welcome to contact me with their program ideas.

Right now I am trying to secure three veterinary clinic dates. If possible, I will arrange for a vet to provide free exams for your chameleons during each workshop. A lot of this depends on whether or not ChamEO has to pay for the vet's time or if they donate their time.

I'm still seeking basic supplies such as disposable non-latex gloves, swabs, etc.

I need ideas and I need lots of help with this. Remember, it's for you guys and the chameleons in your care.

Zoo Med donated several items that we will be able to pass on to those who need them through our workshops.

Please contact me by email if you have questions or just want to offer some suggestions.

Thank you.

Howdy Elisa,

Neat! Can't wait to see the new lab area :). The SBCK group may have to have a few weekend meetings in place of some of the usual monthly weeknight meetings . I can just see it now... It'll be a "BYOFS" (bring your own fecal sample) party ;).

Elisa, I will see if I can't mail you some latex glove boxes, etc., but you have to make me some french toast.

Is there anything else you guys need?

That's always an option for us. We'll have everything we need and the space to do it in.

I'm thinking but for now we still need non-latex gloves for those who are allergic to latex and we could always use a supply of microscope slides.

Ever think of making a trip out to Los Angeles?

That's really awesome to hear that you got the grant from Petco Foundation! I know it seems hard now, but it seems like ChamEO will become one of the top places for Chameleons in need. I know every time I see a sick chameleon in your area I refer them to you.

Congratulations on everything! And good luck!

I think I will be going to California out to Camp Pendleton(sp?) to see my brother, not sure when, not sure if the location will be changed.

I have a lot of non-latex and latex gloves I can offer, my mother's nonprofit she work's for has a lot of these that are laying around, and we get in more every month.
