Help with Humidity Levels

Thought I'd post a quick update on progress an enclosure improvements. Here are some updated pics.

So far:

- UVA/UVB Upgrade to Arcadia T5
- Fans upgraded to larger 100mm units both that pull from the top vents
- Lower planter pulled forward to allow more airflow
- Fogger ports now run to tubes that go to top of enclosure and drop fog down
- Pothos planted in top planer, serveral long strands are being rooted in water for eventual planting as well

Plans:

- Integrate rain/mist system using existing irrigation setup
- Cut out more ventilation on the top panel (this will be quite the project)

So far so good with these improvements, and humidy is now at or under 50 most of the day.

Speedy says hi and thank you!

Awesome! Make sure to replace the Exo Terra vines, too. I can’t wait to see it fully done, great job so far! For cutting out the top, you can tape a trash bag inside the top of the cage to catch debris while cutting so hopefully nothing ends up in the enclosure

Changing out those vines isn't goign to be easy as they are part of the internal structure of how everything inside is stable. I need to figure out how to do it. The primary challenge with the top is that the four sides are not structrually sound without that top part being conneceted and screwed in. I will need to reinforce everything somehow before I pull the top. It's doable but not going to be easy. It would help if Speedy trusted us more and would let us take him out. So far he doesn't seem to thrilled with that idea and we have been waiting (and waiting) for him to warm up. If he only knew how nice a day he could have hanging on some of our large inside plants :)

Your best bet with cutting out the top so you do not impact the structure stability would be something like this. Then if you need to you can reinforce all of the outside edges. Lay your aluminum screen on top and do a thin frame sandwiching it and attaching to the top of the outside edge.
