So my juvenile panther has been on the following misting schedule since I got him about a month ago:
-2am for 2-3 minutes
-5am for 2-3 minutes
-5pm for 2-3 minutes
-Dripper during the day
This worked well and he was typically asleep during misting sessions and basking on and off most of the day. His urates have all been white and I saw him shooting water drops from his dripper and then gulping drops from a branch it was dripping onto just the other day. The past few days, I’ve added a 12:05pm misting session for 1 minute with his lights cutting out at 12:00pm and back on at 12:15pm to help signal to him it was about to rain. I have not observed him at the exact time of this misting, but will typically find him resting in the lower part of his cage for the rest of the day showing his lighter pastel colors as if he’s going to bed.
Just wondering your thoughts on this behavior. Has anyone else experienced similar? Should I remove the noon misting and revert to his old schedule when things seemed fine? Thanks!
