Changing position during the night

Hi!
My chameleon (Panther, Male, 14 Month) is changing his position during the night. He sleeps upside down on a vertical branch. Later at night it seems as if he slipped down. I have to say that this is his sleeping place since the first day and so the bark from the branch is almost gone. Could it be too sleek?
This night I woke up because of my boyfriends alarm clock and take a look at him: He moved to the other part of the branch (Its like a "V) and sleeped with his had on top:confused:
He doesnt showes any signs of MBD on his joints to me and has a strong grip when he is awake.

Are there other chameleons with such sleep behavior or should I get panic?

Greetings, Mirana

Edit: Please move to General. Browser crashed and placed it wrong

Well first of all, do not panic. Having a concern just means you care, so that is good, but don't be so worried you'll panic. He should be fine.

First, can you fill out the "How to ask for help" thingy that Brad provided? That will give us a lot of useful information if you fill it out as detailed as you can. I will try to help with what you have provided so far though.

I do not think that changing positions in the night, especially if it isn't a significant difference is a bad thing. My chameleon I've noticed will sometimes sleep soundly the whole night with no movement, but sometimes it seems he wakes up and moves an inch or two to feel more comfortable. It's like you waking up in the night and moving a position in a bed, although usually it is done while you're asleep. If he is actively moving at night though, it usually isn't a good sign.

You say he has a strong grip, so if that's true that is good.

Uploading a picture of him may help but I'd say he seems fine. Maybe look into different branches. If he's slipping, that's obviously not good but at least he seems to be catching himself.

Most will remain in same spot every night, all night. Crix, tv's, lights, anything can startle them. It is best to keep them away from all light and any noise while they sleep.

I definitely will post and show like I said. But today sadly my Granny has left us:-( so I have no time for this immo

noise ? i thought they can't hear :):):)

Noise wouldn't bother them unless it was so loud you can feel the vibrations in your chest lol. Lights and movement and vibrations will startle them. And of course, temperatures can make them uncomfortable too, and make them want to move.

mine falls asleep even if i have the lights on in the room.
when his UVB + UVA lights both go off, he instantly goes offline, even if my room light is still on :D

Mine have always done this too. After a while they seemed so attuned to the lights in the enclosure that nothing else counts.

Not mine. If I accidentally leave the lights on in my room, all of my chams will curl up in their sleeping spots, but will not go to sleep. I swear that when I walk back into the room to turn the lights off, I get laser beam stares from each of them that could burn holes right through me. Haha:D

A chameleon's stare has some sort of power doesn't it? XD all they need is one eye too, but I remember someone here posting how their chameleon stares at them, with BOTH eyes. Now THAT's just odd XD…I'm pretty sure all of our chameleon's are carefully plotting eliminating us then taking over the world. It's kind of both situations for me. All he needs is the UVB and basking off and he will sleep, but it depends on where he is sleeping. If he isn't under a leaf or very well hidden, my laptop's light, shining directly at his enclosure, may bother him. It's times like this when I put just one blanket over his enclosure so I can block out most of the light. Any other little bits of light entering his enclosure doesn't seem to bother him.

i made a post about it but nobody seemed to know the answer ...
i get the sleep time, but the day time ?
i have my vivarium (i mean ... his) right next to my pc (1m, max 2) with a directly view at him, and him at me.
and there is where i spend like almost my whole day, especially now in vacation.
does that bother him ? or he understood by now that i'm not a threat ? he eats from my hand, he climbs on me when i open his enclosure, etc ...

No that is not a problem, it is pretty much the same case with me.

that's good, i was worried it might be stressful for him ...
he still gives me some stares from time to time, but hey ... i watch at him too ... we're even.
he's not to shy with me, he drinks from me, eats from me ... i hope we will be all fine and get them big and fat and colorful :))

After drifting away from my question I hope someone is still reading here ;)
Here is the pic from him :)
(Isn't he the cutest boy <3? Love him so much )

Oh wow he does look cool. Is he a Nosy Be Panther Chameleon?

From that picture, to me anyway, he looks quite healthy. When he is walking or standing on a branch, is he sort of laying on the branch, or is he totally lifting his body on all four limbs?

mine, when is walking he walks on all 4, but sometime it's normal to just rest on his belly, right ?:D like the cute guy in the photo

He is an ambilobe. It is different. When he is climbing around or watching his belly is lifted. But sometimes he chills like on the pic.

Yes occasionally resting on his belly is fine as long as it is not very often. And yes after looking at it again it looks more like an ambilobe. I was just reading about Nosy Be different appearances and it actually matched quite well XD.

I'd say if he continues to slip a lot, then I'd say to take him to a vet. Regardless though, based on everything else you've said and the way he looks, he should be just fine.

Update

Hi everyone! Wanted to let you know that he is doing very well now. And he became a colorful pretty boy!
