and a bucket

put it on a timer-- it makes an excellent automated drip system.

best part-- running dry wont ruin the motor

lol, funny you post this. I use this for grainage. I have it hooked up to 4 cages rite now and it's on a timer to drain for 60 seconds daily to get rid of unwanted water. I'm still playing with the timer depending on how often i drip/mist. I'll be making a thread once i work out all the kinks. I think it might drip a little too fast for a dripper tho.

First, take airline tubing and cut them to the length you require for two things: One, from your reservoir to the input on the pump, and the other from the "out" on the pump to the top of your cage. Make a small whole in the cage to fit the airline tubing through, then attach it two the 1/2/4 valve attachment. These can be adjusted to allow for variation in the amount that comes out.

Attach the pump to a minute timer (you can pick them up at any harware store) and set it for the times you want it to go off. Since it is just a dripper, you can run it down a plant and have a collection tray underneath it.

You should still mist your chameleon on occasion, but this works as a great cheap water system.
