Hey guys this is levi my 6 month old veiled chameleon. I think hes 6 months old but im not sure cuz the pet store guy didnt really know what hes talking about. I use a bird cage because i like how easy it is to hang things and connect stuff and its a lot cheaper than a screen cage. I do eventually plan on getting a screen cage but i think he will be fine in this for awhile.

Will he eventually need a bigger cage because i dont know how much bigger he will get. My cage is 18x20 or something like that, but it seems like he has plenty of room. Ok thanks guys

That's a nice looking chameleon. I also like the birdcage and kinda wish I had bought one of them. But I like how you got it set up also.

Thank you for the reply and your compliment as well. I am really glad i got him, he is really easy to take care of and even though he hisses at me he never bites and likes being held sometimes.
Instead of getting a reptibreeze screen cage like i was going to, I might just get a bigger bird cage, it works great. It would be hard for me to attach the things i use in my bird cage to an aluminum cage. Some ppl say they use thumb tacs but that just wouldnt work with some of the stuff i use. Its a lot better than the small glass aquarium they had him at the pet store though. Thanks again

Thank you crayola. Yeah when i was at the pet store i was looking at the cages and seen a bird cage and thought it would make a great cage. Plus the price was very cheap. I just ordered some rep cal supplements, all 3 of them because i only have the spray now and i dont like it so i got the powder with d3 and without d3 and also the multivitamin stuff. Thanks again

I have pretty low humidity most of the time, around 35 percent. Will this be a bad thing for Levi in the future. I do have a fogger but it doesnt stay in the cage well because of the bigger sides in the cage the fog just flows right out. So only about 50 percent of the cage gets the fog. Thanks

Great set-up, and I actually have one of my female xanths (about equivalent size to yours) in a bird cage similar to that one. she used to be in a screened cage, so when we switched it up on her, i believe she escaped after like a week! she was nowhere to be found. there's so many doors on it, we had to twist tie 'em shut. she came back after like, 3 days? poor thing was starving and dehydrated! made a full recooperation though, but yeah she does get a bruise here and there every now and then (and no escapes since lol)

My cham's door is always open and he never comes out on his own, I only found him once on the outside of the cage and he hasn't come out since, only when i take him out. Im glad you found your cham, i would be very scared if levi escaped and i couldnt find him. Thank you for the reply

I always hand feed him to get him to like me more so i dont have to worry about crickets escaping. Plus i have aluminum screen i can put up around the inside of the cage and that would stop any crickets from escaping if i wanted to just put the crickets inside the cage. Thanks
