I was finally able to pick up Horn Worms, Phoenix Worms, Dubia Roaches and a sampler. Sampler has a few different fly's and 1 silkworm and 1 butter worm.

I am kind of on the fence about the horn worms. Will that horn hurt Chevy? They just don't look safe. I have heard so many good things about them, but I am worried. I heard also that the Phoenix Worms are a really good source of calcium which in Chevy's case can't hurt with his MBD.

Was so excited to bring all these disgusting things home for him to eat and the little turd won't eat anything! He has been on food strike for just about 2 days now. He is running all over the cage drinking water. He even hangs upside down for drinking water, but food, not so much. He was not impressed by the new food variety. I put them in his feeder dish and he starred at it and walked away. Stubborn! Is this normal male Cham behavior? He is still such a sweet boy. He is just about finished shedding. I guess if he is drinking, I am not going to worry about it.:D

Some are shy eaters:rolleyes: Also some chams tend to eat less around the shed. Just make sure you are feeding right size on the hornworms, they grow fast! The horn wont bother you cham:)

I agree, some chams will not eat if they know you are watching.
But, if he is drinking in front of you, he should eat also.

He may be waiting for you to leave the room before eating.

If you let some cricks loose in his cage, that is bound to get his attention.

He is probably eating more then you think.
Just keep an eye on his poops.
If they look normal, then he must be eating.

Hang the worms on the screen below where he is sitting; they will climb up and get his attention.

Nick:D

yeah worms in a cup don't really worm for my guy place them on a branch or on the screen or having them wiggly from my fingers he eats them instantly. the horn on the worm is actually super soft wont do anything. as mentioned before they grow incredibly fast so if you ever buy several maybe buy a smaller size so they can grow to size

Cool. Thanks for the clarification everyone! The horn worms just looked scary. I thought about putting them on the actual screen myself and now that someone just mentioned, I am going to try that. Yes he is pooping pretty good, Lol. I have seen a HUGE improvement in him. He is much more mobile that he was yesterday. I sat there and watched him climb all the way to the bottom to look at a crix and yep he ate it, then climbed all the ay back up, so It think he is going to be okay. So grateful for all the help on here.

As long as they are commercially raised hornworms they're fine.
No one should ever use any from the garden because the tomato leaves that they eat make them very poisonous to chams and other reptiles.

Shedding often makes chams grumpy and lacking any appetite for a few days.

Nope not wild. I bought them from a reputable bug person.
