Found a chicken of the woods today that was about the size of two basketballs. I tasted awesome.

Yup those. They are good sauteed. Then you can eat it on its own or they are also good on a burger or steak. I was driving when I seen it on the side of the road. I had to go into an eight food deep ditch with a river in it. Then I had to cross that river on an algae covered log to get to it.Like this??? Never would have thought you could eat those!

I used to pick wild leeks though...my mother taught me how to tell which ones were edible.
Free food is always worth it.It must have been worth it!![]()
Everything I have read about them is there in no look alikes and both species of them is good to eat.As long as youre sure it's not poisonous!
There's a look alike for the leeks...so you have to get it right!
I have read that some people are sensitive to them so they say your first time to only try a little.Good to know!
