Chico is in full recovery mode!!!

Yes you are right. My vet recommended 1 ml of spring water twice a day by syringe while on medications like these. We are holding off on the ponazuril for a while to let him recover from the albon and get his appetite back. Does anybody have any tips on force feeding? We are using a soft plastic cake spatula...this is what our vet recommended It doesn't hurt him it is a little difficult though even with someone helping. It does eventually work just wondering if there is an easier way.

Since Chico stopped eating, things werent looking good for him until today. He has only ate 3 crickets the past week and a half due to the albon. Last night I decided to give him some local raw honey. Not even 24 hours later he has already eaten 3 crickets and 1 superworm. With honey on them of course. I'm guessing it helped restore his intestinal flora along with all the digestive enzymes. I could tell when I woke him up this morning he was better because his color was back to normal bright and happy

I'm glad to hear that he is eating again. I've never used honey except on a wound after surgery at my vets request.

Congrats on Chicos recovery! I've never heard of honey being used like that either. But it's really good to know

I agree it is good information to have. I've always been a big honey advocate as well as an essential oil advocate. I knew the healing and antimicrobial properties of honey as well as its aid in digestion. I had a feeling it would work just not this fast. I mean almost immediately it really is a miracle. Spread the word!!!

I eat a lot of honey myself because the antibacterial properties and trace minerals are so amazing. It makes sense that it would be bennificial to animals too
