Chilly critters

My friend one day recommended freezing some crickets and then introducing them to my Cham so how long should I put them in the fridge or freezer? And how long would it take to thaw become conscious again?

If you do it, it's only for the purpose of slowing them down to make them easier to catch. Personally I see no need for this, a healthy cham can catch its food without that kind of advantage :).
Leave them in for just a couple of minutes, you don't want them frozen solid or they will never become conscious again......
This does mean they warm up quite quickly again.......as I said, personally I never saw the point of it.......

I'm 16 sorry if I sound a bit juvenile :/

Not at all, man :) You seem extremely switched on to me. But you are young and new to chameleons is all. I really approve of people who take the time to get their spelling and grammar right even on the internet :D

I just felt a troll. Some of the info put out there seems just so outlandish. I will take it as he has a petsmart that is abnormally out there and he really hears crazy info due to his age. I mean I know petsmart doesn't know much about chameleons, but telling someone that they eat pellets and to use a hermit crab sponge for water? That's nuts even for petsmart. Then to ask about freezing a living thing and it coming back to life........ But I will take it as just inexperience.

Please use this forum to learn and ask many questions. Your chameleon will be happy and healthy if you take the advice you find here.

I know, right  totally ludicrous.....In England we have laws against that sort of thing (we are so much more civilised here - TROLL :D)...but on that thread he also mentioned school and his parents.......which were really the only clues I had as to his age.
I guess after being on this forum so much nothing about Petsmart or Petco could ever surprise me again.....

Sorry to change the subject but I finally got the gonads to pick up a cricket and Tiberius snapped it right out of my fingers :D

Lol, great stuff - I told you not to worry about that, eh? Seems like he'll settle in with you nicely :)

Yes, things are much different where you are. Believe me I know from experience. I am in clinical research and I can get a study approved in the USA in less than a week, it takes 4-6 weeks in the UK. Some say they are slow, I say they are more thorough.

I admire your patience and am glad you can see through the flags that others (myself included) may get clouded by.

He sure is fascinating and super adventurous :) I love em despite his tendency to crawl on my head

Good for you. Please take the time to do thorough research on this forum. Your chameleon will be grateful. You seem to be quite intuitive and willing to learn. This pet is an amazing learning experience. I apologize for my quickness to judge.

It's perfectly fine, I can see why you suspected that of me some of my posts are a bit naive sounding but I'm glad people will still help me despite me sounding like a kid :)
