Choosing My First Chameleon Question

I just got a veiled cham that was 3 months old. I got everything that I thought that I needed first, completed the setup and then got the Cham. Then all of a sudden I needed more shrubs, a live plant, some medicine (terramycin for the eyes), a live plant, a couple new bulbs to change out what I had. This is not meant to scare you but to let you know it is fun and you will learn something new each time you come to the Chameleon Forums. I did a lot of reading and research which helped but this site helps the most. Most of your google searches will pop on a topic within this site.

Remember each cham is different. Some are timid (like mine) and some are friendly. Hand feeding isn't for all chams. Eventually you will be able to do this???? I would recomend cup feeding. I have a keg kup that is white and the crix never get out. When my guy eats it's kind of funny he hangs his butt out and wraps his tail around a twig and goes bobbing.

Haha i'd like to see that. Ya i think i've gotten it all, i have to bake my drift wood though, i just took a trip over to the beach (lake eerie) I have to go get crix to gutload for a day and i'll probably overnight it for tomorow!

Post Script: His name will be Sling Shot

I also have gotten a cham for my first reptile ever! As long as you have done your research, have your set up ready, and have people you can ask. I would say go with a baby, I was told they can be more forgiving as far as feeding and misting schedules, I got Max at 6 weeks old (a veiled), it's been a month and he is twice the size!
Although If i ever get another one..I'm getting a panther. They seem to be more social in general than other breeds.
Good luck on your first Reptile!
