I believe you will want to replace the soil with an organic one that doesn't have fertilizers in it. Also, if getting the plant from the store/nursery etc. Ask the clerk if they use pesticides/herbicides. If so I believe you will have to wash teh plant off with a very mild soap solution.

Soo I have to replace the soil that it comes with and get sum organic ok..Not really good with repotting but there's always a frist time for everthing...thxs for the help and the info forum

I worked at a garden centre and we used pesticides in the water, so whenever we buy a new plant, it is always repotted in new soil. Also, some chameleons (especially our little guy) like to eat soil, so in the past we used small rocks to cover the it. Unfortunately, the little guy actually consumed and passed one of the little rocks when he was just a little baby (thank goodness he was not hurt/impacted/or had an anal prolapse) We moved onto smaller rocks and noticed that he would shoot at them and move them to get to the soil (sneeky little guy, but he loves his dirt!) We ended up using huge river rocks to cover his soil, and prior to the rocks, we covered our soil with a layer of mesh screen (not as easy as it seems to completely cover the plant base). He still tried to shoot at the big rocks but has given up once he realized that he cannot really get past them. When we let him free-range on our ficus plant, we used outdoor carpeting from a hard-ware store. He still goes down to see if he can shoot at some soil but it seems to do the trick for plants that are not under a misting system.
Hope that this helps, sorry for the repetitive use of "soil" :p

soil...

You can just throw it in a larger pot and pack down 2 inches of organic soil and throw 4 inches ontop sorta loosely and ul be good! And wash each leaf on both sides, and all stems using a.VeRY light dishsoap water solution then shower it off,.. Rinse well! Even if the stor u get it from didn't sprey it with crap doesn't meen there supplier didn't! Its better to be safe!
Your gunna be a great daddy

Thank u guys again for your help..I dont know what I would do with out the forum..and all the great ppl on here.. Thxs:D

No problem. :D For bigger plants, you can also put them in the shower to give them a good wash off before re-planting.

In our experience....

organic soil without perlite or vermiculite. Also, if you are going to have anything natural in your setup ie:wood or vines, you have to prep them too. Fake vines can be treated with a mixture spray of vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and water, there are threads online that have the proper ratio recipe. Soil and natural sticks should be baked (on the forums they say to bake it like a pizza) for around 15-20 minutes (warning it will smell) we use a baking sheet. Cleaning of the sticks with the spray mixture should be done weekly/bi-weekly. Let them dry in the sun (or air dry) before putting them back into the tank.

Hope that this helps! You can message me in the future if you would like some novice advice, Can't wait to see what cham you get, i vote Ambanja, but we are partial :D
