It's Joel's fault!
We went to Reptile Pets Direct last Friday and I came away with three chameleons I was certainly not planning to buy-- a pair of Trioceros hoehnelii and a Calumma malthe. It's all Joel's fault!
I went back yesterday to ask about finding a Mini Mouse for my little Mickey Mouse (C. malthe).
He mentioned that he was getting a Madagascar shipment Friday I think but no Mickey or Mini Mice would be in it.
He did say he had two pair of Calumma oshaugnessyi coming and he was pretty excited about that.
Of course, I had to look through what he had and tried to get a picture of the Pink Panther he had (Ankaramy locale). That is a stunning chameleon but the male would have none of it and hid in the foliage so no pictures.
I decided to get another gravid female hoehnelii so I can have unrelated pairs, so I now have a trio of them and they are super cute!
Here's Heidi Hoehnelii. Sad I don't have names for the three of my graciliors, two of which I bred myself and hatched last August! You can see some of her battered tail in the second picture, but other than the tail and some other superficial marks, she looks great and about ready to shed. Both females look as if they have a really small edema, but not the male.
