CJ's Hunger Strike

So CJ has decided he will only eat crickets!!! He used to just gobble up anything I put in his food cup but now he ignores most everything. I have tried not feeding anything for a couple days but he still refuses to eat the alternate bugs. How long is it safe to fast him and is this an effective way to break him of his fixation on the crix?

If you gut load the crickets with a nutritious and varied diet I would stuff him with crickets until he gets sick of them and accepts other prey items-shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks. There are many keepers who wish their chams would accept more crickets!

You should be happy that he eat crickets. They are one of the easiest prey items to gut load, therefore you'll have fewer health issues down the line when it comes to nutrition.

I was so happy he liked dubias! I have a giant colony of these critters. I hate crix, they stink! I am not bothered by their chirping just hate the smell. He is going to get stuffed with them though. I just ordered 250 from Ghanns!
