Claws Getting stuck in Screen Walls

hi everyone, I am pretty new chameleon owner and my chameleon is about 9 months old and has fairly big claws. i have a full screen cage for him. like other chameleons, he loves to climb the walls. the only problem with that is that5 his claws get stuck in the screen and he yanks them out, he has already lost one claw witch i dont think is going to grow back. i really dont want him to be loosing anymore. im freaking out right now because i dont really know what to do. please tell me what would be a good solution for my problem. (and i cant afford to buy a new cage)

No, the claw will not grow back.

Can you post a picture of the enclosure?

It may be too small, or not have enough amendments, like plants and vines and such. Having plenty of other things for them to climb on can help keep them off the screen.

Maybe you should try gardening fence. I put some in my enclosure with uv resistant zip ties and it works great. The chameleon grabs a hold of fence instead of the screen. I've seen a lot of owners use this method. I linked a quick picture of what it looks like from google. You can get this stuff in any hardware store.
