well thank you very muh i shall indeed use the peroxide and wht brand of paint would u suggest do they have silicon at walmart?

High percent peroxide isnt on most store shelves. Try a beauty supply store or hydroponics supply store.
I'll use Any brand that is zero VOC acrylic latex. (a low VOC would be okay if you cant find zero VOC, some stains and other wood sealants are okay too)
You can buy silicon most anywhere with a hardware or home improvement section, BUT read the label and if you can get a type that is Aquarium Safe (and thus non-toxic).
