Cleaning cage plants?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and the chameleon world. My first guy arrived just a few days ago, and thanks to reading everyones posts throughout the forums for the last few weeks, I have a great setup going on.

I recently purchased some live plants to put in the cage (umbrella tree, pothos) and before putting them in, I know i have to clean them from any potential herbicides/pesticides. My question is: How do you guys go about cleaning live plants prior to putting them in the cage (hose down, re-potting, etc....)

Any advice is useful, thanks!

With pothos I filled a spray bottle with some dawn and hot water and spray the hell out of the plant then used more warm water to clean the leaves of all soap and let it air dry... For the umbrella I used my bathtub filled with warm water and dawn and swished the plant in it and used the shower to rinse and again air dry

If you're repotting, take the whole operation outside. Use a spray bottle to wet the leaves down, then soap those up with dishwashing soap. Remove the plant from the pot, and start rinsing. You want to get all the soap and as much of the top soil off as possible. Repot with organic soil.

I find it helpful to soak the roots in warm water for awhile, before attempting to change the soil
