hey all, i am buying a charm soon but i need to no what is good to put in there cage for climbing? give me some ideas for what to put in the cage. and give me some links to websites. xheers.

If you are buying a young/baby cham, just get a ficus tree that will fit into your cage and a few fines that should be more then enough.

Or just search on the forum witch trees are suitable for chameleons, just to make sure you don’t end up getting a tree that might be poisennes to your chameleon, but the most preferred trees are ficus or hibiscus trees.
But you will want to make your cage as natural as possible, so dont use fake plants PLEASE:)

alright cheers for the list, is there a way to no have a pot in the cage or cover it up? i think it looks unatractive

My veiled loves climbing between his Ficus tree, 4' bamboo sticks and thick vines made into inner-connecting highways. The hoya plant I have is still a little to small for him to use much, but is growing rather quickly and has hardy leaves and stems that will hold his weight nicely within next couple of weeks.

so dont use fake plants PLEASE

Rather, if you do use them, ensure they are good quality and tough plastic (cant be ingested) and avoid silk plants which soak up water rather than retain droplets for your cham to drink.

You could use hanging plants with the smallest possible pot. Plants will grow over it and make it less obvious with time. There are very few dry "air plants' you could use but id question suitability, they'd be just for looks, not climbing.
Some Ephiphytes could be attached to the enclosure sides somehow, they require little of water and nutrients but I dont know how hardy they are with temperatures.

This Is pothos (purple plant is fake)

Plants, as mentioned above.
Also, "Vines" (the fake ones you buy in stores, or use balck/green/brown coated electrical wire), branches (I like to use arbutus).

A bunch of links to websites/threads re enclosures can be found in this blog entry:
