Hey I was just curious if anyone knew of any safe climbing vines that would be safe to grow in my panther chameleon's cage? thanks!

ive never heard of it either
i wonder if the might grow over there legs while there sleeping
also most ivy is toxic right?

I dont necessarily know about growing live vines, but here in the fla. we have sea grapes and trees on the shore lines and I've cut some pretty gnarley vinage; all kindsa corkscrews n such. I let em soak in bleach water, then rinse, let em sit in the sun, then then rinse again. google vines and see if you cant find any non toxic vines that groe in your local woods.

Thanks for your responses guys there's gotta be a safe ivy or vine of some sort I've tried googling like crazy lol
I have a envision of growing vines on three sides of my terrarium I think It'd look bad A$$ haha

I have used pothos to cover the sides of the cages. Pothos tends to grow vines, but they will not stick to screen cages as they would on tree bark... So I have the pot at the bottom of the cage and affix the vine with twine every 6-8". It grows fairly quickly so with just a couple of plants you can cover a pretty decent surface.

Here are a couple of pictures to give you an idea of what end result looks like:

Obviously you can increase the number of plants/vines to get more coverage.

I have one of those in there haha great minds think alike I was just thinking it would be cool to have an actual climbing species of vine the pothos you have to affix them as they won't climb and secure themselves

It would be nice to have a climbing species of vine, but I guess I would affix it anyway to make sure it bears the weight of my cham?.. Also, compared to many other plants, pothos is really easy to keep!

There is one I seen on one of Dezs threads, I believe its called a potato vine. It may not be available depending on location, but it grows fast given the right environment.

I looped a zip tie in the top of my cage and hang a pothos from it. The guys seem to like it since most of them even sleep dangling from them.

Here are a couple that I ordered seeds of the sensitive plant and kangaroo vine

Will do I thought the sensitive plant would be cool anytime he touches it it'll close up and the other is an actual vine hard to get ahold of I found so I'm ordering seeds of both

Anyone have a Madagascar jasmine in their panthers cage?

You can look into Pasion Flower or Pasion Fruit plants. Both are fast growing and have strong vines that will attach to anything. I'm not 100% sure if they are safe for Chams so you might need to look into that, but it seems like a good option.
