Clipping nails

No, do not clip them. Nails that are too long is usually a sign that the branches and vines are too small or soft. You should add larger diameter branches and wood climbing surfaces to your cage. This will allow the nails to wear down naturally.

Thank you Lathis for this information. I have reptile nail clippers that I have never used. I'm glad I checked here before I tried to clip my chameleon's nails. Lately my female Mt. Meru has been catching her nails on her horn because her nails are so long. Your advise makes so much sense since this problem has just started two weeks ago (and I've had her for 20 months). I just moved her into a bigger enclosure with a big ficus plant and fake vines about 6 weeks ago. Looks like I will be adding some real wood branches tomorrow.
