Codiaeum variegatum - Croton

I would like to keep this plant in one of my enclosures that will be inside my home. I have read mixed reviews about keeping them indoors, some saying they will do fine and others saying they need high light.

I will about 2-3 times a week be able to move the enclosure outdoors for the day to enjoy the Florida sunshine.

Thanks!

I have had a croton in the house in moderate to low light for four or five months, and it's doing fine. These plants have an irritant latex; I would not put one in with a cham who is liable to munch on plants. That said, my guy snuck across the room and was found lurking on my croton without either cham or plant suffering any harm - but I might not put one in a cham enclosure unless you were sure the chameleon wouldn't take a bite.

Thanks. I havent heard of this plant causing any Cham any harm and I know a lot of folks use them in their enclosures. I do know that it can be a problem for some humans though. Just dont eat it I guess. Can cause a rash too I guess.

You say yours does well indoors? Does it get any natural light at any time or all artificial?
