colors come in?

DC cham

Just a general question, and probably a pretty dumb one.

I recently purchased a 2 month old veiled chameleon from an online site from a beautiful, colorful sire. Of course, he is plain green now and doing great.

How old are they on average when their colors start coming in? And does what the baby look like now mean anything in terms of what they will look like? I mean, he is plain green but some of the other babies shown on display on the site looked like they already had patterns: like stripes, etc....

Does that translate into them looking brighter and more colorful when their colors start coming in?

Thanks for any answers.

for veiled chameleons, colors start to show between 5 and 8 months. some are late bloomers though, others are early. no real way to tell
