Colour change?

It is not to blend in like many would have you think. It is more about the temperature and the chameleon's mood.

Depends on the chameleon species.

Jax turn black when sick or stressed, or over heated.

veileds turn darker green/brown/black when stressed or cold.

panthers go bright and pastelly colored when hot.

pick a species, i can helop with color codes.

:)

Lime green shades are normal colors.

As an adult, they get orange and blue spots which means they are sexually mature.

When gravid, They get a black background with teal/ robins egg blue spots all over, with yellow/orange stripes and spots.

When angry they get black stripes.

Ah brilliant thanks, does gravid mean she's ready to lay eggs?

Well yes and no.

Gravid means shes is working on eggs, but may not be ready to lay.

My female showed gravid colors from 3 days after she bred to 3 days after she laid.

Some females dont show gravid colors the entire time, or at all.

Ill get some photos of my female and post them for you so you can see the differences.

Picture 1 is before she was bred.

Picture 2 is when she got angry at me.

Picture 3 is when she was gravid and asleep.

Picture 4 is when she was gravid.

That's great thank you I'll keep these picture so I can compare :) shes currently a light green colour so I guess she's pretty happy.

how old is she?

at around 6 months you want to get a lay bin for her, as they can lay eggs even when not bred.

She's around the 4 month mark at the min.. Iv got the bin ready to go but just going to wait a few months

thats fine.

hope its at least 12 inches deep.

:)

and that whatever lay material you are using, will be wet enough to hold atunnel and wont collapse.
