Have long will it take my my Pedro to shary showing his colours?, at the moment he shows a few colours but nothing really to talk about. I know he is def a boy as he has them things at the back of this legs,

Will he show good colours, and if so what type of colours???

this is almost impossible to tell accurately.
I don't know exactly what do you mean by "good" colors.
Veiled has multiple of colors ranging from orange, yellow, green, and baby blue (some earth red might occur in certain individual), brown, and dark brown.

If you want a better guess, you can always looked at his father and his mother's father. Those are the colors he most likely end up with when he grow up.

I got him from a pet shop in the uk, so i havent seen his parents.
I used to have a female chameleon and she had some really nice colours but she died a while back when she was carrying eggs,
i have attached a photo of her too(Gorgia), will he do the same colours or diffrent to her??? Camera 2 020.jpg

Well I was looking through your gallery and I saw that Pedro is 5 months old. 5 months is usally when veilds start showing their patter or stripes as Justin stated earlier. Yours looks a little smaller/younger than the average 5 month old so I would say give him another 2 months and you will start to see his pattern. He looks a little thin in your pics, also he was sleeping with your lights still on. Sleeping during the day is the number one indicator that something is wrong. So just make sure you read and give him everything he needs to stay happy and healthy.

A lot of people have told me that he has got to be a lot younger then what i was told when i got him,i was told he was 5 months but now been told he could be as young as 13weeks, were in the uk too.
i am now worrying that i am doing the right things for him, my last chameleon was never this tinny when i got her.
All pedro does is light green and a horrible drak green purple ish colour.
He never sleeps during the day, just diggs a lot

Good to hear, I just saw the one pic of him sleeping and assumed with the lighting that it was daytime. Keep us posted.

Thats okay he is looking down so it looks as if he is sleeping,
you said he looks thin, i feed him loads but how can i feed him up?

hi

i`ve just taken him to the vets and she has told me that Pedro is only 13weeks old not 5 months that i was told when i bought him, and that he is quite thin, how can i change that.I am so worryed now as he is so young.
temp is now better thanks you for asking x

Make sure he stays hydrated, mist him twice a day for about 5 minutes or more. Also try feeding him different types of worms, ie tomato worms and meal worms. Just make sure that he stays hydrated and you have a heat lamp. One reason why chams bask in the heat is for digestion.

Hey Chris,

The heat lamp has been adjusted or removed in this enclosure (bit of an experiment) due to the temps being too hot (it is an all glass enclosure w/ a screen top).
I do believe sufficient temperatures for digestion are being maintained.
The animal has been down at the bottom trying to dig out ... we are seeing if less heat will make him more comfortable.

Thanks Brad...I was unaware of the entire situation with the heat lamp. What is the ambient temps (day & night)? How large is the enclosure? That's odd...where is it located in the room?
