Coming next week: a little something new...

So excited for you :D! I can't wait to see her grow up here on the forums. It was well worth the wait and suspense ;).

I wonder if this posting of boxes will continue???

(Evil laugh... :sneaky: )

Hmmmmm, is that a hint at moving forward with the new weekend project :wideyed:. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Not sure if you have them "liked" on fb but, I think Busy B's exotics may have gotten the other pair that were selling with your girl. Worth keeping an eye of for more down the road if that pair was unrelated to yours.

Good call. I actually did notice they posted a breeding pair! Didn't even connect the dots until you said something

, I hope you have success with her. They really are a beautiful species and wouldn't mind having them myself when I'm ready to expand the species I keep. Though I have many years before that can happen :cautious:.

Yeah, I would actually love to try breeding her with an unrelated CB male. My dream backup plan if this whole science thing doesn't work out would be to go into chameleon breeding anyways. And carpet are such tiny babies and there's so much information on breeding them, that they would be a pretty good way to test those waters. I'm just so in love with the species and would love to see more CB availability.

So far so good with my little Alice! She's alert and active. Caught her drinking so far, but she didn't eat yesterday. Once I have confirmation that she's eating, I'll feel really good about her

Looks like ty dye exotics ( ty randall) works with them too :D.

Okay two updates, cham fam:

(1) I've had Alice for a week now and she seems to be doing great! Took her 2 days before she felt comfortable enough to eat, but she's been a little piggy since then. Definitely getting more and more used to my presence, too, so here's hoping she becomes less and less shy with time. We're getting along pretty well, except we argue on the daily about whether or not she ought to be upside-down on the screen when I have literally over a dozen lush plants and many perches to choose from :)rolleyes:)

(2) Now this is where things get even more exciting (and unexpected). I was contacted yesterday by a MN-local chameleon keeper (Hi Josh, if you're seeing this!) who's focusing mostly on Parson's these days, and who happens to have a 1 year-old male cb carpet chameleon (also produced by Frank Payne, but unrelated to my girl) that he offered to give me free of charge. While I was certainly not planning on adding on to my personal jungle, this opportunity just seems way too good to pass up! Once in a lifetime. What are the odds that, after all my months searching, there's what I've been looking for right here in my home town. Not a guaranteed thing yet, but I'm too excited not to share!! If all goes well, I may be able to produce some cb Midwestern lateralis in the not so distant future!

p.s. bonus pic of Alice with a fruit fly hat on (sorry for the crap quality pic)
