I'm pretty sure Jackson's are community chams?
oh god, ive been gone for so long and ive come back to see the same old posts. No you do not KNOW that jacksons are a community chameleon. as they simply are NOT. certainly they seem more tolerant of one another. however this is a falsification perpetuated by novice keepers.
this minor stress seems like nothing at all until it compounds itself into a serious issue. and then you find yourself questioning what exactly happened. well you lack experience is all. and you were fed miss information.
it a particularly large captive environment where multiple basking locations and sources of water and food are provided it is manageable. but by no means would i house sexually mature chameleons in a standard sized cage. even if the tolerance level seems exceptional.
if youre housing two jacksons together they may be forgiving, but as an experienced keeper i would separate them to avoid any potential issues in the future. provided they are being kept under ideal conditions as is.
if you contest the perspective that they should be separated expand the current enclosure and provide as much foliage as possible.
