Completely new! Any tips??

I use the mist king auto mister system.

by far the best money i ever spent.

Mine is the ultimate, so it cost more..

But the basic set up is 99 bucks.

fyi- uvb rays do not pass through glass or plastic, so that wont help your chammie.

ive heard those are worth the money! do they cloud though? or does it mist like a spray bottle? its the actual fog/mist clouds that Nemo is scared of even on the lowest setting. as for the UV, will it not pass thru the mesh then? i have it sitting on top of the mesh terrarium like the box shows

i posted a concern on my UV light here if u dont mind giving it a quick read, i would really appreciate it

Mine puts out a fine mist. its def water droplets, just small.

My guys were nervous of it at first, but after about a week of it going off every 2 hours, they got over it real quick, now they drink from the nozzle when it goes off,

It was by far, the best thing ever. because it means i can be at work, and nto worryu about my guys getting water.

i also use a timer for my lights, that makes them go on and off whem i want them to.

now all i have to do, is feed, clean, and watch them.

UVB goes through mesh,, all my cages have mesh tops.

ill look at your other thread now.

hehe sorry your other thread sounds funny.

more than likely he wanted to see what it was, wanted the rays, and was a bit cold (uvb lights dont put off any real heat)

ah so i will try leaving it in for a while and see if he gets used to it. its a nice fogger, i would hate to not use it cause like you said they are so convenient.

ok good it goes thru mesh, thats good to hear cause i dont currently have an alternative method.

i think you may be right about him just being curious. he wasnt really stressed, he stayed his normal green but he did seem frustrated that he couldnt get thru the mesh. i had his basking lamp on as well & the cage was about 83 so im sure he wasnt cold. i will leave it on more too and see if he adjusts to it. how many hours a day should it be on?

UVB and basking lights should stay on 12 hours a day, more or less.
I turn mine off when the sun goes down (completely dark out)
so mine are on a bit less than 12 hours a day.

I do that because my guys are near the window and tend to go to sleep anyway as the sun drops.

that makes sense. mine is on an opposite schedule. 6am-6pm i have lights off and room darkened so he sleeps while im at work then i have his "daytime" run thru the night so i can keep an eye on whether hes eating and drinking regularly. when i set up his cage initially i thought i had the perfect spot for his drip system but then i noticed he wasnt drinking. as soon as i moved the dripper to a different corner he immediately drank from it. just stuff like that i wanna be around to take note at least until hes settled

Nope. Ive done it with every cham or gecko i purchase.

I have 3 adult chams, 1 juvi cham, and 34 hatchlings. trust me.. its not a new phenomenan here.

Hi I have turned the pictures for you. :D

SUCCESS!!! Nemo ate 3 crickets! I had let them into his cage & while I was trying to pick one up I saw a pink flash out of the corner of my eye & the cricket was in his mouth. I was able to watch him pick up the other 2! So exciting!!
