Concerned!

I briefly woke up today thinking about Carmelo. My still mostly asleep brain said if he has arthritis, that combined with being overweight might be making it hard for him to maintain his grip - support his weight. Then I went back to sleep. I dunno…my brain somehow came up with it while I was sleeping, so it’s either nothing or something. 🤷‍♀️
I think you are definitely on target.

Yesterday, Carmrlo fell to the net 1 time. This morning he was hanging on a branch 1 inch from the net. He continues to grip his own legs causing him to lose balance. Also he is not using his tail. Typically he will curl his tail around a branch. I changed his uvb to an Arcadia fixture.

Ugg I think it is going to come down to blood work to see what is going on internally. Was he just puffing at you or are you seeing edema in the gulular?

I don't know if it's edema. It's very loose skin. It's less noticeable when he is stretched out.

So from those pics it does look like edema. That area between the legs there should not be puffy all the time. Now they will puff that out especially in reaction to something. But if it is puffy all the time then it is edema. Which with all that he has going on makes sense since edema can happen from an imbalance in the body.

I changed his uvb to an Arcadia fixture and bulb. I really think he was not getting the right amount of uvb. He has a Vet appointment for Monday.

The Vet did not find any physical abnormalities. We are waiting for the results from the bloodwork.

I feel like my UVB bulb was not putting out the appropriate amount of rays. Several days ago, I switched to an Arcadia fixture and bulb. He has not fallen and seems to be moving better across the branches. He hates the mister and is able to move rapidly into the pothos to avoid the mist.
