confused need a little advise

im thinking now of getting a jacksons chameleon but there are a few things that each different websites say different

What type of substrate do i need??????(can i use the coconut soil i use with my veiled )

What supplements do i need ???

Most of us don't use substrates in our cham cages. There is a risk that the cham will pick up substrate particles on its tongue, swallow them and a build up could cause an impaction or intestinal wall damage.

Supplements are basically the same types you use for your veiled, but as Jackson's are more sensitive to supplements you would use them less often. I am not a jax expert (so I'm sure others will chime in here), but would suggest reading articles on montane cham species husbandry on the Chameleonnews ezine. There should be a link to it under the "resources" tab.

If the jacksons is an adult calcium without d3 every other feeding. With d3 once a month and vitamins every 3 to 4 weeks. I use newspaper as substrate. NOT shredded so all I have to do is pick up the paper when they poo.
