Constant drip question

Okay, so I'm building my own tank and I had one question. I was thinking about building a non-stop reuse dripping system... to better get an idea I made a simple diagram:

Now my idea was to have the dripper, obviously, drip into the tank. From there it will funnel down the drain and into the collection bucket. In the collection bucket will be a big aquarium filter and water heater, every say 2 hours the pump on the bucket will activate and direct the water from the bucket to refill the dripper with warm, clean water.

I know the site advises not to use waterfalls and drippers, ect ect, but what do you think of this idea? Would an aquarium filter be sufficient protection against bacteria build up?

I know waterfalls are highly discouraged. I believe most people here use a 'standard' dripper though....

Also, I would not try recycling any waste water as drinking water. Even if the aquarium filter could get much of the bacteria out, I doubt it could filter out all of it. And, you'd have feces/urates that may get into the resevoir... seems like too much to go wrong there...

Have you thought about having your dripper water sourced from a clean water resevoir & the dripper draining into a seperate dirty water reservoir? This may not be quite as perpetual as using the same resevoir in an attempt to recycle the water. However, it would 100% clean. Nice idea over all though! Good luck!

Yea, actually have a spare water line in the room I'm keeping them (Bathroom converted to bedroom) so that was my first bet. Was just trying to be a little "Green" as they say. And to think for my old aquarium tank I had an old evaporation, condensation water recycling setup :p Thanks mate, I'll just use the old line with the water collection bin to be emptied daily. I'm getting ready to start building the cage tomorrow, I'll let you know how it turns out :D

Use the "waste" water for cage plants or houseplants.

I agree, not a good plan to recirculate the water
