I considered putting a free range next to a window on the east side of my home so I did a quick temp check. Mind you it only 9AM and just 59 degrees here in the northeast...
My wired probe is holding steady at 108+ degrees at the window! I’m sure if I tested a foot or more away from the window it would drop significantly but this is a good example of why heat measurements need to be taken.
Also, the window temp drops significantly as the sun rises above this window (around noon). At that point it is hitting hitting the roof and finally sets to strike the west side of the home
