Cool mist humidifier?

So I bought a cool mist humidifier today and I put it on my counter in my kitchen to test it out. My humidity Gauge never went up and I don't see anything coming from the humidifier. I feel a moist breeze but am I suppose to see something or am I suppose to get a cool moisture one? They had both, not sure what the difference is.

My humidity does go up to 70 or so when I mist but then go right back down to around 35 so I wanted to try and keep it consistent.

Cool mist humidifiers aren't as substantial as ultrasonic humidifiers. They just kind of blow a little cold mist. I never had much use for one.
