I want to start on a project like this. Just some Plywood and screws and imagination can go a long way in making something that will make your's and your chameleons life 10x easier. I want to make a square fold down base that can fold in on my window on the inside, and then fold up to a 90 degree angle with the window and then have hinges and rollers on the bottom and Roll it outside my window, so i can stick his smaller cage outside and he can get more of a out door feeling instead of just sitting in his smaller cage next to the open window.

I like the fedora decor by the way :p

The cage looks great so far. Thanks for sharing the pics of the build. Keep them coming! Its always great to see new ideasl

You might want to watch out with regular wood stain. I don't know of any which are actually "water proof", most advertise "water repellant".

If you want to be able to see the wood grain you can use polyurethane to seal it. I believe it can also be applied over stain in case there's a certain color you want.

Im using a regular satin poly sealer and probably using some kind of covering havent decided on what material to use. I also had an idea for a series of verticaly stacked wall pockets with some type of hanging plant for wall cover and climbing/hiding space

Ive been spending more time brainstorming than i have been working. So i finally started moving again got the inside treated and started working on the walls. Im using greatstuff gap filler foam it works best for building anykind of structure you can think of in my case vines. Ive got rocks siliconed to the wall forbclimbing ledges and possibly a plant anchor. I cut pieces of tree i got, screwed them into the wall then foamed around the base. I plan to silicone the exposed plywood and cover it with a finer mulch mixture and cover the foam with coconut husk/plantation soil.

I have plans for a drip system built into the foam on the back center either into a covered catch can or into a plant any input on that issue would be helpful. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349658918.068731.jpg
