Could this be the beginning stages of MBD?

Chameleon Info
Chameleon: Veiled Male about 5-6mo. old. He has been in my care since October 13th
Handling: Roughly once a day to once every other day, usually for a shower. This was while he was first in my care and after much reading I drastically reduced handling him to once or twice a week in an attempt to keep him stress free.
Feeding: Crickets are his staple, he eats 10 - 12 daily and happily gobbles up a superworm or two. (Until recently, changes are posted below)
Supplements: Calcium daily (not on days the feeders are dusted with other supplements) Multi-Vitamin every other Monday and Nekton-Rep (recommended by the vet on his first visit for eye issue) on alternating Mondays. I also use a calcium with d3 once ever other Wednesday (only twice a month). Sundays I do not supplement with anything.
Watering: I mist him twice daily for roughly 20 seconds each time. I've only ever caught him drinking three times outside of a shower.
Fecal Description: His stool is a healthy color and firm but not hard, his urine is also of a healthy white-ish almost cream.
History: He had an issue with his eye back in late November early December. After a visit to the vet, some antibiotics and saline solution he has recovered!

Cage Info
Cage Type: Screened cage 16x16x20
Lighting: All Living Things UVB 75 watt bulb(This is also a compact coil bulb). We try to keep his lighting consistent around 8am to 8pm
Temperature: Basking spot is around 90 degrees, the gradient is all the way down to 70 degrees at the bottom. His overnight temperature is roughly 70-65 degrees. I use a thermometer and humidity gauge in one, I move it all around to check temperatures.
Humidity: Near the basking spot the humidity is significantly lower around 20%-30%, all other areas are 50%-60%. Again his humidity gauge is an all in one with the thermometer.
Plants: He has a fake tree, bendy vines and three fake hanging plants for hiding. He also has a pothos plant that he enjoys eating.
Placement: He is partially tucked into a corner where there is no pet traffic, no vents and no window to shed light that I cannot regulate.
Location: Illinois, DuPage county close to Chicago.

Current Problem: He has been lounging in the exact same spot daily for about two weeks now.. it doesn't seem healthy though because he lets his belly touch the bendy vine. The last time I got him to eat crickets was Monday when I held the cup for him for about 15 minutes, finally he ate them. He was eating the superworms but now he only eats one every other day.

Today I went to take him out thinking maybe he just wanted to roam around but noticed his left hind leg seems swollen at the knee and ankle. He was willing to climb on me but I observed him limping and he avoided putting any kind of pressure on that leg. I let him climb back into his home and the same thing. He is now clinging to a hanging plant and letting that leg lay limp, not grasping anything...

Is this a sign of poor supplementing on my half? Could he of sprained his leg? My boyfriend witnessed once him falling from the top of his cage(climbing upside down) onto his pothos but this was a month ago.

I purchased a UVB and it is a coiled bulb made my All Things Living, it looks the same as the other UVB bulbs I have for my bearded dragons.

I'm not a vet but keep free-range veileds. Sounds to me like your veiled is resonding to an injured foot. Much as we would if we didn't have a cast. My inclination would then be to leave him/her by the ligt and bring food and water to the cham. Good luck. They are a wonderful animal to keep.

Difficult to diagnose on the internet. For starters, the tried-and-true tubes, such as the Reptisun 5.0, are considered far better than the newer coils.

However, that does not directly address your OP question. If you want to answer that question NOW, or tomorrow as your cham is likely down for the night, here is what you do. Once well warmed and wide awake tomorrow, take your cham out of the cage, in a manner it will not appreciate, by grabbing it behind the head securely. It will likely gape so as to bite. Insert your index finger into the mouth to allow the cham satisfaction. Watch and feel. If it has bone issues, its jaw will bend while biting, and the bite could be completely painless. On the other hand, if the jaws stay rigid, and the mild pain expected is felt, it is not MBD.

This is the most sure-fire test out there. No joke.

@Walter1 if he has sprained his leg do you think I should arrange his cage in a way that if he falls its not so high that he hurts himself?

@Chameleon Company I really don't want to get bit.. and I don't want him to hate me but what you're suggesting makes perfect sense. I'll be sure to let him take a shot at biting me tomorrow once he is awake, I only hope its a good strong one!

Wear leather work gloves, or something similar, if pain is an issue. The test is the best indicator. Chameleons with bone issues will reveal such in the "bite test" long before it is evident in their legs.

Dr. Ivan Alfonso taught be this years ago. I credit him for it.

It's not so much getting hurt.. I just don't want him to hold a grudge against me for pissing him off to the point of biting. In end though eventually he will forget and its going to give me a head start on a healing process if he is developing MBD. Thank you so much!

He won't hold a grudge. He will have gotten over it before a minute has passed. They aren't anal like humans.

True enough. If onlyfolks were more like chams!

Regarding placement if its ankle is sprained. No, leave him be and offer things to him. For exapmple, the food in a cup a you have done or a slow water dirp nearby. I don't think he/she will fall from the perch if left alone. Also, you're clearly attentie enogh that should that hapen, you 'd be there to help which outwheighs changing the envirnment,

We're all cheering you on.

Thanks, I'll be sure to update his status tomorrow and if he seems better c:

I really wish I could of updated my original post.. Here are three images of his left hind leg, I believe it might be a sprain but he is my first chameleon and I don't want to be wrong.

As you can see there is some serious swelling, would bringing him to a vet do any good?
