Countdown begins!

Hey all!
I'll be getting my new baby (Pip!) this Saturday! I imagine this will be the longest week of my life! I'm still deciding between a male Panther or Veiled--leaning toward a Panther though! I wanted to ask for suggestions on how to safely get my little guy home. I'll be driving over an hour to get him, and want him as comfortable as can be for the ride home. Any suggestions would be great!

That's going to be basically the longest week of waiting in your life ;)

I hope you bring home a happy little fellow.

For the ride home, I think getting him into a dark box with a stick in it (attached somehow so it won't move) with a towel at the bottom would be the best. Once he is in the box and on the stick, close the box and set him on your passenger seat, or just wherever he is least likely to fall. If he does fall due to the bumps, he'll fall on the towel, safe and sound.

When you get him into the cage, open the box, and leave him in the cage and close the door. Then leave the room. Allow him some time to explore.

Then after that you can try offering food or water, but I suggest giving maybe a day or two to acclimate.

I would suggest. When bringing him home in a box. Make sure the sun does not come through the car windows and make the inside of the box temperature rise. As little ones are sensitive to high temps. I know someone who killed a frog that way.
