couple of questions

I just picked up a Jacksons chameleon, he's about 4 months old. It's been really hot here, we're talking upper 90's and I know Jackson's being montane species like cooler temps.

1. Should I put his basking light on? I have the UVB light on and the thermometer at the top where his basking spot is gets up to 86 without the basking light on...

2. He's really dark brown, any tips on helping him acclimate better? He's drinking like a champ, haven't seen him eat though.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you don't need the basking light at all right now. He'll still be attracted to "bask" under the UV light as they are attracted to light as well as heat. What temps does the room drop to at night? That may be more of an issue for him right now. He'll need a drop of at least 10 degrees at night.
