Cover the chams at night?

My chams are on the dining room side of a combine living/dining room. I turn their lights off pretty early as they are usually tucking themselves in by 7 PM (lights on is 0600). We are usually up until midnight in the living room, with lights on. Its not fully dark in their enclosures and I am wondering if I should be covering them up.

I notice that my chameleons stay awake as long as the lights are on. Covering them would probably be a good decision.

I thought about just using a bath towel over the front of the enclosures or getting a bed sheet in the future. I am just getting a 72" table that I will be able to line all of the enclosures side by side so maybe a dark bedsheet, would block light but still have circulation

Don't worry about the circulation, they will be fine. I cover my cages with sheets and completely cover the whole thing at night if I have my chameleons sleeping indoors. We have a bird in the room which I don't want to leave in the dark, so I cover the cages from the light at night time.

Bemo is in a dinning room area also. I cover three sides with a sheet and the backside is against the wall and clamp the sheet so its nice and snug. I have two curious cats that I don't trust alone. It helps regulate temperatures also, because my house is drafty. Before I covered him, I found myself constantly shhhhshing family and friends as if he was a newborn baby lol.

I've been covering mine because of the same reason. Kuzco is in the living room and we use it quite late. I use a fitted bed sheet folded in half kind of stretch it around 3 sides leaving the back which is a few inches away from the wall and the top open. I figure he is going to get some air flow that way :)
