I been thinking of adding another Vield.. and there is a listing of a cham up.. Of couse he has pictures of this female and her "tank" Sigh..

Curious.. Do you think a adoption fee of $160 is a bit much? she looks like a adult but still awatiting her age..I was hoping to get him down to $100 and take her only.. as I have no plans to keep her the same way.. so don't need his supplies..

Also how many questions do you think I should ask about diet, supplements etc..

any suggestions if it is complete crap.. looks like may use a calcium supplement only.. any long term health stuff I should be worried about if she is in good visual condition..

Taking her to a vet, what would you recommend for testing.. other than perhaps a fecal.. also should I just chance it, and just get her on a propper diet, housing.. etc etc.. and see how she does?

Thanks..

Welcome to the forum! I also got a chameleon from Craigslist. I'd say ask for details, but don't assume they are correct. I'd definitely recommend a vet trip and fecal exam too. $160 dies seem quite high, especially when her gealth is likely to be compromised. Can you share the photo?

add link..

I e-mailed this "kid" I suppose.. Just this morning. but here is the add..
We have a reptile place down here, so hoping she came from them.. or could be a petsmart/petco purchase..
If he got her at petmart down here, he did not go though me.. (I work there).. Store trainer.. and work in petcare on occasion.. and we do not carry that summplement I see on the cage.. so hoping ZooCreatures..

Thanks for the advise!!.. Feel bad for this little lady..

Ask how much for just the animal. It looks like they are trying to justify the price because its for the whole "set up".

That is a terrible setup. ;/

The animal looks healthy to me though.

If you look at it, make sure its eyes are attentive, and if you can, see it eat.

Handle her, and make sure she has a good grip as well.

Look her over for any burns/scars/abnormalities.

Thanks..

I am hoping to get him down or a lower price on just the animal.. and let him sell the stuff off to make up the rest.. If I am really lucky see if I can get her for free.. then I have more money to invest in a new cage, vet check etc etc..

I worry a bit about poor care having a long term effect on a female esp.. also worried its obvious he is not preparing for her to produce eggs..

but really appreciate the feedback and recommendations.. I want to make sure I don't forget anything to consider.. so even obvious stuff mentioned is always good just in case..

In the future please don't post external classified links (craigslist) in the husbandry forums.
Thanks :)
